Closets of the Community is hosting their first drive of the year from September 28th to October 9th. Drop off your used clothing items, school supplies, packaged food items, and new toiletries in front of the Main Office in the grey bin. Donate to make a difference!
PHOTO DAY IS COMING! School Picture Day will be Monday, October 12, for students in grades 9–11 and Tuesday, October 13, for seniors and faculty.
PAWS is having its September meeting on the 29th after school in room A239. Come to learn about a local cat business, The Cat Closet, enjoy some snacks, and potentially win free tickets to their cat lounge! Be there or be square!
If interested in trying out for Freshman Boys Basketball --see Mr. Holmes in the AD's office for information. This will start on October 5th at 6:00 pm. Must see Coach Holmes and have a 2026-27 physical on file in Final Forms. Even if you are in a Fall sport—you need to see Coach Holmes.
If you're a senior football player, please stop by Ms. Shield's room, A215, to fill out your senior info sheet. You can stop by during P+ or before/ after 5th period.
Want to play board games after school and hangout with like-minded students? Come to PROUD club this Friday from 2:50- 3:30 in Ms. Van's room: B223. If you would like to bring some of your own games to play, you may leave them in B223 before school and retrieve them at the end of the day. Otherwise — come by for music, a variety of provided games, and social fun at the end of the week!
The Career Fair will take place TODAY in the Large Group Room from 9-12:30.
Homecoming is coming! The dance is on Saturday, Sept 26th from 8-10pm in the White Gym. The theme is Midnight in Manhattan and tickets will be $10. Tickets will be sold during lunches all week or you can buy a ticket at the door. If you are going to bring a guest from another school you must pick up a guest form from the Main Office.

This year, BHSS will again be using the Social, Academic, and Emotional Behavior Risk Screener (SAEBRS). The SAEBRS helps our team understand how students are doing socially, emotionally, and academically so we can provide the best possible support. For middle and high school students, the screener is completed by the students themselves, allowing them to reflect on their own strengths and challenges while giving staff a picture of how to support them. Adventure Awaits: Costa Rica Marine Biology Expedition (May–June 2027)
Join Mrs. Beth Smith, MCCSC’s STEM to Them Mobile Lab Educator, for an unforgettable wildlife and marine research trip to Costa Rica in late spring/early summer 2027. We will be studying leatherback sea turtles, exploring tropical ecosystems, and doing real-world fieldwork.
Call-Out Meeting:
Monday, September 28 during Panther Plus (10:00–10:45 AM) in the LGI Room.
Family Zoom Meeting:
Tuesday, September 29 from 7:00–8:00 PM for families and anyone who cannot attend in person.
