Calling All Panther Poets! It's time for the 13th Annual Bloomington High School South Poetry Out Loud Competition! Our school competition will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 27th. You get to memorize and recite two poems,  have the chance to go to the State Competition, plus maybe even the National Finals in Washington DC with the chance to win up to $20,000 dollars! Yes, believe it or not, poetry does pay! Looking for awesome holiday gifts? Give the gift of handmade jewelry! The BHSS Beginning Jewelry & Metals classes present our 17th annual holiday jewelry sale! It will be held for TWO DAYS ONLY- this coming Tuesday and Wednesday, December 16th and 17th, during all lunches. A portion of all sales will be donated to the Monroe County Animal Shelter. Look for us in the atrium, right outside the cafeteria. Everything will be under 10 dollars, so bring your cash, and stop by to take a look! 
 
Latin Club will meet Monday, December 15 after school in Mrs. Shelton's room. Come learn about a Roman winter holiday and enjoy snacks. Plan to stay until 3:30.

Brightening Lives Club is having a meeting Friday, the 12th after school in room A221! Come with a friend and bring your festive spirit to make holiday cards for nursing homes! 
 
PAWS is having their blanket drive from Wednesday December 10th through Friday the 19th. Stop by the Library to donate, and support our furry friends this cold, winter season. All blankets must be clean before donating. We are also accepting wet, canned food for the animal shelter.
 
If you would like to play Panther Hoops but don’t yet have a team-you can play with us! Sign up in the Main Office. The Panther Hoops house team will have practice this Saturday from 12-1:30 in the Main Gym.

Join BHSS Habitat after school on Friday, December 12th for a gingerbread house decorating contest in the large group room. Cost is $5 per person. It’s Hammer Time!
